About this expansion
Tetrarchia: Dux is an expansion for 1–4 players that adds new threats and allies to the Roman Empire, with play lasting around 40 minutes. It is now part of the base game and is no longer available independently.
New enemies are ready to breach Rome’s defenses. From eastern Europe, the Gothic army crosses the Danube, while Pirate ships emerge from the sea to challenge Roman control of Mare Nostrum. A young Roman general, the Dux, may provide much-needed assistance.
This extension contains three independent modules. Each can be used on its own or combined with the others, the base game, and any of the five official variants. That flexibility creates an extensive range of new challenges while preserving the game’s simple rules and fast playtime.
- The Dux: introduces a new orange Roman meeple.
- The Pirates: adds a new black fleet.
- The Goths: brings a new black Barbarian meeple.
Choose any number of these modules to shape the challenge facing you and your co-Emperors. The Dux can reinforce Rome’s side, while the Pirates and Goths add fresh dangers from the sea and eastern Europe.
With its modular format, Tetrarchia: Dux offers a straightforward way to vary each session without making the rules complicated. Whether you add one new element or combine all three, the result is a new test for Roman rule in a compact, fast-playing package.
