About this board game
10 Days in Africa is a 2–4 player travel game with a 30-minute play time, in which travelers build a correct ten-day journey across Africa by plane, car, and on foot.
Each player arranges destination and transportation tiles on a tray to represent the journey’s ten days. On a turn, a new tile is drawn and may replace a tile occupying one of the days. The drawn tile or the replaced tile is then discarded face-up onto one of three discard piles.
Tiles may not be rearranged, so every replacement matters. Players must use careful planning and a little luck to create valid connections from the beginning of the journey to the end while trying to outwit their fellow travelers.
A journey can connect in three different ways:
- On foot: Place bordering country tiles side-by-side.
- By air: Connect countries of the same color with a same-colored airplane between them.
- By automobile: Use a car between two countries and a third country that borders them.
The objective is to complete all ten days with correct connections. The first traveler to connect the entire journey wins, making each draw, replacement, and discard an important step toward victory.
Released in 2003, 10 Days in Africa is the second installment in the 10 Days series. Its straightforward tile-replacement system combines route building, restricted movement, and multiple forms of transportation into a compact race to complete a ten-day adventure.
