About this board game
10 Days in the USA is a travel-planning board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Players build a 10-day journey across the United States using state and transportation tiles, aiming to connect every day correctly before their fellow travelers.
The game includes 50 state tiles, 10 colored airplane tiles, and 6 car tiles. At the start, players flip tiles one at a time, examine them, and place them in the 10 spaces of their tile tray in any order. From there, each turn offers a new opportunity to improve the route.
On a turn, draw one tile from one of three face-up piles or from the face-down pile. The drawn tile may replace one tile in your tray. The replaced tile—or the drawn tile, if you choose not to use it—is discarded onto any of the face-up piles, keeping useful information in circulation while changing the available choices.
Every connection in the journey must follow one of the game’s travel rules:
- By foot: Place bordering state tiles side-by-side.
- By automobile: Connect two states by driving through a third state that borders both, with a car tile between them.
- By air: Connect two states of the same color with a same-color airplane tile between them.
Careful arrangement and a little luck are essential as you work from the beginning of your trip to the end. When one player has all 10 days connected correctly, that player wins. Released in 2003, 10 Days in the USA is the first installment in the 10 Days in series.
