About this board game
1500 m is a strategic track-and-field racing game for 3–8 players, with races lasting about 80 minutes. Each player takes the role of one of eight runners competing in the legendary 1,500-meter distance.
Movement is luck-free, so every advance is a deliberate decision. Players choose how much to move in each round while managing a shared reserve of 100 mental strength points across the entire race. Timing your effort is essential: spending too much too soon may leave you without the resources needed for the final stages.
Every round is divided into three phases:
- Card phase: Each player selects a movement card, then bids simultaneously with mental strength points to win an advantage action.
- Pace phase: Players may keep, increase, or decrease their current pace, spending mental strength points as required.
- Extra mental strength points cost phase: Runners spend additional mental strength points based on wear and their positions in the race.
The race combines bidding and resource management with direct decisions about pace and movement. You must judge when to conserve your strength, when to push forward, and when taking a risk could create the opportunity to become the next 1,500-meter champion.
1500 m also includes rules for dummy runners, allowing the race to be adapted, along with rules for a shorter 800-meter event. With its simultaneous choices, controlled movement, and demanding mental-strength economy, it focuses on strategy rather than chance while capturing the changing rhythm of a middle-distance race.
