A Thief’s Fortune

About this board game

A Thief’s Fortune is a card game for 1–4 players, with play lasting around 90 minutes. Set in the wondrous desert city of Nabbarah, it casts each player as a possible future of the same thief.

After breaking into the Royal Palace, the thief discovers a mysterious hourglass that reveals glimpses of the future. With everyone in the palace now pursuing them, players must choose actions and follow the path that carries them as far from danger as possible.

Each player develops three areas in front of them: past, present, and future. Across five rounds, players draft location, event, and character cards, placing them in their personal future area along with resources.

• Draft location, event, and character cards.
• Place cards and resources in your future.
• Extract resources from those cards as the game progresses.
• Move empty cards into your present and activate their powers.
• Score fortune points through the paths you create.

As resources are removed, cards eventually move from the future into the present. Once there, their powers can be activated to help you score the fortune points needed to win.

With its focus on glimpses of possible futures, A Thief’s Fortune turns each decision into part of a developing story. Visit different locations, interact with local characters, and make sure the events you have seen actually happen as you seek the most successful route through Nabbarah.
