About this board game
Abalone Quattro is a marble-pushing strategy game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 40 minutes. Players compete individually or in two teams on a sculpted board designed for three-player contests and team play.
Each player has a colored set of 14 marbles. The objective remains direct: be the first player or team to push six opposing marbles off the playing area.
On your turn, move a straight line of one to three marbles one space in any direction. The space you move into must either be unoccupied, or contain an opposing group that is smaller than the group you are moving. This creates a constant contest over lines, spacing, and the ability to overpower adjacent marbles.
- Four colored sets of 14 marbles
- A new sculpted board for three-player and team games
- Individual play for three players
- Head-to-head play for two teams
- A victory condition based on pushing six opposing marbles away
For example, a line of three marbles can push one or two adjacent opposing marbles one space along the line, including off the playing area. The number of marbles matters: a group can push only when it is larger than the opposing group directly ahead.
Team play adds an important restriction. The first marble in the pushing line must belong to the player making the push, although the line may push marbles belonging to both opponents. With its expanded player count and team rules, Abalone Quattro brings the core pushing system into a broader multiplayer format.
