About this expansion

Advanced Squad Leader: Starter Kit Expansion Pack #2 is a two-player expansion for approximately 120-minute Starter Kit games, released in 2020. Designed for all levels of Starter Kit play, it adds new scenarios, mapboards, counters, and rules to the Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit system.

The expansion includes eight scenarios set in locations including China, Burma, Java, and New Guinea. Two new 8” x 22” geomorphic mapboards, identified as boards k and l, provide additional battlefields for these engagements.

• Two 8” x 22” geomorphic mapboards: k and l
• New rules introducing Chinese forces and overlays
• Ordnance and Vehicle Notes for weapons used in the scenarios
• Counters for Chinese, Japanese, British, Filipino, and Dutch units

Expansion Pack #2 continues the introduction of the Japanese that began in ASL Starter Kit #4, this time placing them against new opponents. It also expands the range of combat in the Pacific Theater of Operations while offering a low-cost way to introduce the Chinese.

Important: this is not a standalone Starter Kit product. It assumes ownership of Starter Kit #1, Starter Kit #2, Starter Kit #3, and Starter Kit #4, which provide additional unit and information counters needed for play. Advanced Squad Leader: Starter Kit Expansion Pack #2 therefore serves as an add-on for players who already own the core Starter Kit modules and want to broaden their scenarios and forces.
