About this board game

Age of Conan: The Strategy Board Game is a strategy game for 2–4 players, with an approximate play time of 90 minutes. Set in the Hyborian Age, it places each player in control of a major kingdom seeking to become the most powerful of its era.

Choose from Aquilonia, Turan, Hyperborea, or Stygia, then develop your kingdom through armies, emissaries, kingdom cards, sorcery, and intrigue. The adventures of Conan the Cimmerian offer another route to greater power and wealth, while players compete to secure the allegiance of the mightiest hero of all.

The game unfolds across three ages. At the beginning of each age, four Conan adventure cards are drawn to form the adventure deck. Before each adventure begins, players bid to determine who will become the Conan player. When that adventure ends, a new card is drawn and another bid decides who takes the role next.

Actions are driven by the roll of the fate dice. These dice form a shared pool, and players take turns choosing one die and performing an action allowed by its result. Once every fate die has been used, the dice are rolled again, continuing the action cycle until all four adventures in the current deck are complete.

  • Control one of four major Hyborian kingdoms.
  • Use armies, emissaries, kingdom cards, sorcery, and intrigue.
  • Bid for the role of Conan player during each adventure.
  • Choose from a common pool of fate dice to determine available actions.

After the four adventures, play pauses so players can earn gold and take kingdom-building actions before the next age begins. In Age of Conan, planning, bidding, and shared dice choices shape the struggle for influence across the Hyborian world.
