About this board game

Age of Craft is a city-building board game for 2–4 players, playable in about 40 minutes, combining resource management, dice drafting, trading, and tableau building.

Each player develops a personal city by purchasing building cards from a shared supply. The supply always includes six types of basic cards that provide resource production and victory points, alongside seven randomly chosen types of action cards.

On the active player’s turn, three dice are rolled. The active player chooses one number to keep, then passes the remaining dice clockwise so the other players can select their numbers. Afterward, the active player may negotiate with opponents to trade dice and assemble the combinations needed to generate different kinds of resources.

  • Draft dice as numbers move around the table.
  • Trade with opponents to pursue useful combinations.
  • Spend resources to add building cards to your tableau.
  • Balance production and victory points while expanding your city.

Purchased cards become part of each player’s tableau, giving the game its central focus: turn available dice and trades into the resources needed for new construction. The changing selection of action cards ensures that the supply is formed differently from game to game.

The game ends when one player reaches 20 points or when the last Mercantile House card in the supply is purchased. The player with the most points wins. Released in 2014, Age of Craft offers a compact contest in which dice selection, negotiation, resource combinations, and card purchases all contribute to building the strongest city.
