Age of Exploration is a 1994 expedition game for 1–6 players, with play lasting about 180 minutes.

Each player represents a European syndicate backing expeditions. The journey begins by attracting a famous explorer, then outfitting an expedition and setting out on a voyage of discovery.

At sea, every expedition must brave dangers including scurvy, storms, and superstition. Reaching land brings new possibilities, but it also introduces challenges that can test even the boldest conquistador.

Along the way, an expedition may encounter friendly natives or become embroiled in rivalries, civil wars, and prophecies. These events shape a demanding journey in which discovery and danger stand side by side.
