About this board game
Air, Land, & Sea is a two-player card game with battles that take about 20 minutes, first released in 2019. As Supreme Commander, you deploy military forces across the three theaters of war: air, land, and sea.
At the start of each battle, both players receive a hand of six cards. Take turns playing one card at a time until all cards have been played—or until one player chooses to withdraw. The first player to reach 12 points wins.
Every decision matters, from the order in which cards are played to whether they are placed face up or face down. A face-up card must go into its corresponding theater, but it triggers the card’s tactical ability. A face-down card can be assigned to any theater, although it has a strength of only 2 and provides no tactical ability.
- Three theaters: Compete across air, land, and sea.
- Six-card battles: Play through your hand one card at a time.
- Tactical abilities: Use face-up cards in their matching theater.
- Flexible deployment: Place face-down cards in any theater for reduced strength.
- Strategic withdrawal: Sometimes retreating denies your opponent a complete victory.
Points are awarded at the end of each battle based on its results, so withdrawing can be just as important as pressing your advantage. Careful timing, concealed options, and tactical card play shape every clash.
Air, Land, & Sea: Critters at War features the same gameplay as Air, Land, & Sea, but replaces the military theme with 100% critters and more vibrant colors. Whether you choose the original setting or the critter version, the central battle remains focused on controlling the three theaters and reaching 12 points first.
