Airlines Europe: The Presidents

Airlines Europe: The Presidents is a 2012 promotional item for Airlines Europe that adds secret president tokens for 2–5 players and a game lasting about 75 minutes.

At the beginning of the game, each player receives two random president tokens from the ten available. Every token matches one of the ten airlines in the game. Players secretly examine their tokens and keep them hidden until they decide whether to reveal them.

The tokens introduce an extra layer of bluffing as players consider which airlines they most want to support with their stock. An opponent may be unsure whether a player has a hidden president capable of changing the result of a future payout.

• Receive two random president tokens at the start of the game.
• Keep tokens secret until choosing to reveal them.
• Use a matching president token to break a stock tie during a payout.
• Score one point at the end of the game for each unrevealed president token.

During a payout round, players score points based on the stock they hold in a particular airline. If a player is tied with one or more opponents in an airline for which they hold the president token, they may reveal it and break the tie in their favor. Any opponents tied with that player are moved down to the next payout level for that airline.

Once revealed, a president token remains face-up until the end of the game and can affect every later payout when needed. In Airlines Europe: The Presidents, deciding when to expose a token is crucial: reveal it to gain an immediate advantage, or keep it hidden and preserve its end-game value.
