Altered: Whispers from the Maze

About this expansion

Altered: Whispers from the Maze is a 2025 board game for 2 players, following expeditions into the ruins of the enigmatic City of Scholars.

The freezing winds of the Cais Adarra are behind the expeditions, and the ice is finally beginning to melt. After witnessing Kuraokami, the Ice Dragon, take flight over the mountain’s highest peaks, their destination becomes clear: a city that may contain answers about the source of the Tumult.

When the expeditions arrive, they find a strange and haunting sight. The City of Scholars has been reduced to crumbling ruins surrounding a colossal chasm that descends into unfathomable darkness.

• Explore the mysterious ruins of the City of Scholars.
• Establish a settlement on the surface.
• Descend into an enigmatic labyrinth hidden in the city’s depths.
• Search ancient halls where valuable treasures may still remain.

While one part of the expeditions establishes a foothold above ground, another begins the descent below. The labyrinth may hold discoveries that could advance the search for the Tumult’s source, but its deepest secrets are not easily revealed.

Careful exploration is essential in Altered: Whispers from the Maze. The ancient halls promise treasures and answers, yet some things may be better left in the dark.
