About this board game
Amalfi: Renaissance is a strategic board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Set in the Italian port town of Amalfi during the Renaissance, it casts players as merchants seeking to restore the city’s former maritime importance.
Amalfi was once a dominant maritime power, but its influence has faded. Each merchant begins with only four ships, and these vessels serve a dual purpose: they navigate the map and store the resources needed to develop your strategy.
Resources open up new possibilities throughout the game. Discover charts to gain better destinations for your actions, acquire paints, books, and historical monuments to earn honor and bonuses, and invite renowned historical figures to support your plans.
- Explore new opportunities by discovering charts and improving your available destinations.
- Collect cultural achievements through paints, books, and historical monuments.
- Recruit famous figures to strengthen your strategy.
- Construct new ships to gain more workers and take more actions.
The game lasts four rounds, creating a focused arc in which every resource and action matters. When the final round ends, the player with the most points wins.
This new edition of Amalfi: Renaissance adds lighthouses that can be built on the map, along with new characters and illustrations. It also includes six new asymmetrical decks and rebalanced artworks, charts, decrees, and titles, providing more choices and replayability.
The updated presentation features a new box, a double-layered main board, and individual player boards. With its blend of maritime movement, resource storage, cultural acquisitions, and evolving strategic options, Amalfi: Renaissance invites merchants to bring an abandoned port town back to life.
