About this board game

Amanite is a deduction and risk-taking game for 2–4 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Across three rounds, players choose mushrooms, gather tokens, and compete to earn the most victory points.

Each player begins with three clues, and every player receives different information. However, the clues are shuffled, so nothing can be taken for granted. To discover the real values of the mushrooms, you must collect more information, compare what you know, and pay close attention to the choices made by everyone at the table.

The game’s split-and-choose mechanism puts information into motion. Players share mushrooms, and the decisions made during those exchanges can reveal useful details to all the other players. A choice that benefits one player may teach everyone else something about which mushrooms are valuable—and which ones should be avoided.

  • Deduce the real values of the mushrooms from incomplete and changing information.
  • Use opponents’ choices to improve your own decisions.
  • Collect tokens and pursue victory points over three rounds.
  • Avoid collecting too many poisonous mushrooms.

Every decision in Amanite balances knowledge against uncertainty. You will need to decide when the available information is reliable enough to act, and when taking a risk could lead to a better reward. The choices you make also become information for your opponents, making each exchange important.

After the third round, the player with the most victory points from their collected tokens wins—but only if they have not gathered too many poisonous mushrooms. Make sharper deductions than your opponents, manage your risks, and choose your mushrooms carefully.
