About this board game
Amphipolis is an adventurous family board game for 1–4 players, with play taking about 30 minutes. Each player leads an archaeological team working to save valuable findings from a threatened excavation site.
The archaeological site of Amphipolis, one of Greece’s greatest excavations in recent years, is threatened by landslides. As the entrance to the monument becomes increasingly endangered, teams must work feverishly to secure as many artifacts as possible.
In each round, different artifacts are discovered and placed in their respective sorting areas. During their turns, players take tiles from these areas, seeking to combine the findings in the most rewarding way. The goal is to score more points than the rival archaeological teams before the excavation is closed by the landslides.
- Lead an archaeological team at the Amphipolis excavation.
- Take artifact tiles from the sorting areas.
- Combine findings to pursue the most points.
- Race against landslides that can shut down the monument entrance.
Amphipolis combines an accessible theme with a clear race against time. Every round brings different artifacts to the sorting areas, creating new opportunities as players decide which tiles to take and how to combine them.
With its archaeological setting, family-friendly design, and focus on collecting valuable findings, Amphipolis invites players to compete for the title of the best archaeological team of all time. Secure the discoveries, maximize your score, and finish the excavation before the landslides make the decision for you.
