Ancestree

About this board game

Ancestree is a tile-laying game for 2–6 players that takes about 20 minutes. Across three rounds, players build personal family trees by choosing ancestor tiles, connecting them, and competing for the highest score.

At the start of each round, every player receives a hand of six ancestor tiles. Choose one tile to add to your family tree, then pass the remaining tiles to the next player. Each selected ancestor becomes part of your growing lineage, connected through leaves or hearts.

• Build a personal family tree over three rounds
• Choose one ancestor tile and pass the rest onward
• Score for connected generations and coin icons
• Earn final bonus points for marriages

The round ends once you have added five ancestor tiles to your tree. Players then compare their family trees with those of their neighbors, gaining points for the longest connected generations and for the coin icons included in their tree.

After the third round, marriages created in your family tree provide bonus points. With its combination of tile selection, passing hands, and family-tree construction, Ancestree turns each choice into part of a larger lineage and scoring plan.

The player with the highest score after all three rounds wins. Released in 2017, Ancestree offers a compact competition built around building connections, watching the neighboring trees, and shaping a family history from the tiles available.
