About this board game

Anima: Beyond Good and Evil is a stand-alone expansion and card game for 2–4 players, playable in about 60 minutes. Set in the world of Gaia, it continues the adventure after the sealing of Omega and the shattering of the Infinity Orb.

Everything seemed safe once the ancient entity Omega was sealed and its unlimited source of power was broken apart. However, the scattered splinters of the Infinity Orb leave the future uncertain, and a new threat is rising: Genesis, the ultimate evil.

Each player takes control of a party of exceptional characters. Use their cunning and magical powers to complete missions and work toward stopping Genesis. Success is not guaranteed, though, because rival players can hinder your actions while pursuing victory for themselves.

The game includes a variety of cards representing the people, places, challenges, and benefits found in the continuing adventure. Its components include:

  • 110 cards covering Characters, Areas, Encounters, Missions, and Advantages
  • 4 character counters
  • 2 six-sided dice and 1 ten-sided die
  • 1 rule book

Anima: Beyond Good and Evil can be played on its own, making it an accessible way to enter this card-game adventure. For a larger experience, combine it with Anima: Shadow of Omega Revised Edition. It also integrates with Anima: Shadow of Omega and Anima: Twilight of the Gods, allowing the adventure in Gaia to continue across the series.
