About this board game

Anno Domini: Europa is a 2009 trivia and bluffing game for 2–8 players, with each game lasting around 30 minutes. Players arrange historical events in chronological order, relying on estimation, deduction, and confidence rather than perfect knowledge.

Each player receives a hand of event cards, many featuring obscure pieces of history. On a turn, a player plays one card into the growing timeline, placing it where they believe it belongs in relation to the cards already on the table.

Think another player has made a mistake? Instead of playing a card, you can challenge the sequence by expressing doubt. The timeline is then checked. If the sequence is incorrect, the player who played the previous card receives additional cards; if the sequence is correct, the doubter is penalized instead.

The objective is straightforward: get rid of your hand cards before anyone else. Because the events can be difficult to place, Anno Domini: Europa rewards sensible guesses and daring challenges as much as historical knowledge.
