About this board game
Anomia: Party Edition is a word game for 3–6 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. It includes six new decks filled with more than 425 unique categories, plus customizable blank cards for creating your own.
Players take turns placing cards face-up in a stack in front of them. When the symbols on two players’ cards match, those players face off: each must quickly give an example of something in the category shown on the other player’s card. The first player to say a correct answer wins the opponent’s card and places it face down in a winnings pile.
Because cards are stacked, losing a face-off can reveal an earlier card and trigger another match immediately. These cascading face-offs can pull other players into the action, so everyone needs to stay alert even when it is not their turn.
- Six all-new decks for expanding the Anomia experience
- Over 425 categories, including prompts such as breakfast food, lake, and reptile
- Wildcards that allow different symbols to match and can trigger new face-offs
- Blank cards for adding custom categories to every deck
Play the Party Edition decks on their own, or intermingle them with the original Anomia decks. The game ends when the deck is exhausted, and the player with the most cards in their winnings pile wins. With quick answers, shifting matches, and unpredictable wildcards, Anomia: Party Edition turns simple category prompts into a constantly changing contest.
