About this board game
Antiques is a competitive art-collecting board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting around 60 minutes. You take on the role of a museum curator seeking to become the most prestigious art gallery owner.
Representing a prominent family of art curators, you must acquire fine pieces at auction and assemble distinctive collections. Other families are pursuing the same opportunities, competing for deals with artists, galleries, and museums.
Each turn brings important decisions. Through strategic auction bidding and careful collection assembly, you work toward creating temporary exhibitions in renowned museums and international galleries. Opportunities can disappear quickly, so decisive play may be essential.
- Compete as a curator from a prestigious family.
- Acquire art pieces through auction bidding.
- Assemble collections to create temporary exhibitions.
- Race against rival families for points and prestige.
Antiques is played in sequential turns around the table. The game continues until a player completes the required number of temporary museum exhibitions, with that requirement based on the number of players.
Once the end condition is reached, final scoring determines the winner. The curator with the most points claims victory, earning recognition for building the most prestigious gallery through sharp bidding and thoughtful collection choices.
