About this board game
Apocalypse Road is a post-apocalyptic racing and demolition-derby board game for 2–10 players, with races lasting about 90 minutes. Using the Thunder Alley/Grand Prix engine, it turns auto racing into a brutal contest of firepower, wreckage, and survival.
In a bleak future where modern society has collapsed, organized racing remains one of the sports that refuses to die. Ten teams compete across the Thunderverse in a season-long spectacle, sending armed cars onto tracks that have fallen into decades of disrepair.
These are not ordinary circuits. Drivers must struggle to complete laps through a jumbled landscape of jumps, joker lanes, and dirt while machine-gun and missile fire threatens to end their run. Speed and guile still matter, but the old rules no longer apply: the arena resembles a high-speed demolition derby, with opponents encouraged to destroy one another.
- Score 1 Skin whenever one of your cars crosses the Finish Line.
- Score 1 Skin for each opposing car eliminated during your activation.
- Win the event by being the first team to reach 15 Skins.
There is no leading player to track and no need to record lapped cars. Instead, every activation can change the contest as teams pursue points through racing and destruction. Eliminating an opposing car can be just as valuable as reaching the line, creating a violent balance between advancing and attacking.
With its ruined-world setting and gladiatorial tone, Apocalypse Road presents racing as a fight for wealth, food, and a chance to become a hero for a day. Take the wheel, arm your cars, and try to guide your team through the wreckage to victory.
