About this board game

Arabian Struggle is a card-driven conflict board wargame for 2–3 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Set in the Arabian Peninsula during the early years of the 20th century, it places rival factions in a contest to gain power over Arabia.

Each player leads one of three factions: the Hashemites, the Rasheedis, or the Saudis. Every faction must contend with the other two, while also dealing with the considerable interference of two non-player empires: the Ottomans and the British.

The game unfolds across three distinct eras, each representing a different stage of the conflict:

  • Pre-War
  • Great War
  • Post-War

Each era contains up to six rounds, and every faction takes one turn during each round. The shifting balance between the competing powers creates a focused historical conflict in which player decisions and outside imperial involvement both shape the struggle.

Arabian Struggle also includes a two-player variant. This version uses only the Hashemites and Saudis as player factions, while the Rasheedis become a non-player element alongside the Ottoman and British empires.

A game can conclude before all three eras are completed by meeting an end-of-era victory condition. This provides an alternative route to victory and means the conflict may reach its decisive outcome ahead of the full sequence of rounds. With its card-driven system, three competing factions, and non-player imperial powers, the 2024 release offers a compact board-wargame portrayal of a pivotal struggle in Arabia.
