About this expansion

Aristeia!: Double Trouble is a two-player expansion for Aristeia! featuring 90-minute matches and a brand-new double-profile game mechanic. Released in 2020, it adds two champions whose Character cards present a different game profile on each side.

Double Trouble introduces Moonchild, an Ariadnan Dogface who can transmute into a Dog-Warrior when she receives Damage. She was a tracker and guide during the Dead Man Journey linking MOB Liberty with Fort Apache 5, before being recruited by the Keller Resources company.

Moonchild is described as a late game character, using the jargon of Aristeia!’s MOBA-inspired setting. Her two profiles represent the change between her Dogface and Dog-Warrior forms, giving this champion a distinct place in the expansion’s new mechanic.

The second champion is Lei Gong, whose name in Chinese mythology means “Lord of Thunder.” As the symbol and icon of the Empire-State’s technological-military Invincible Soldier program, Lei Gong is Yu Jing’s response to the panoramic advertising machinery embodied by Maximus.

  • Moonchild: an Ariadnan Dogface who can become a Dog-Warrior after receiving Damage.
  • Lei Gong: a Yu Jing champion with one fast and elusive profile and another that is blunt and deadly.
  • Double profiles: each Character card has a different profile on each side.

With its two transforming or contrasting champions, Aristeia!: Double Trouble expands the roster with characters whose identities are reflected directly in their cards. It offers a focused addition for two players seeking new profile-based possibilities in Aristeia!.
