About this board game

Arkham Noir: Collector Case #1 – The Real Leeds is a solitaire card game for 1 player, designed for a 30-minute investigation. Set in a noir reimagining of interconnected stories by H. P. Lovecraft and other authors, it places you in the role of private investigator Matthew M. Bartlett.

A mysterious client claiming to be from the FCC hires you to investigate a pirate radio station broadcasting obscenities near Leeds, Massachusetts. The town is surrounded by unsettling rumours of leeches, witches, cannibals, strange gatherings, disappearances, and dead people on the radio. As you arrive, the station identifies itself as WXXT: “The murmur in the heart of Leeds.”

Gameplay centers on adding cards to open cases and creating lines of investigation. Your ultimate objective is to collect five “puzzle” clue cards, then piece together the larger picture before your time or mental stability runs out.

  • Investigate a standalone case inspired by stories including “Rangel,” “If He Summons His Herd,” “Little Leeds,” and “The Investigator.”
  • Build lines of investigation by adding cards to open cases.
  • Score five “puzzle” clue cards to assemble the big picture.
  • Play with adjustable difficulty levels.

Every newly shuffled deck creates a unique challenge, giving each investigation its own uncertainty. With its compact play time and focused solo format, Arkham Noir offers a tense search through a town where official help is unlikely and the missing may not be truly gone.
