Ausgerechnet Buxtehude is a 20-minute game for 2–6 players about placing German location cards in their correct relative positions.

Is Buxtehude west or east of Hamburg? Where is Kassel—north or south? Players use their knowledge of Germany to decide where each location belongs, but knowing the answer is only part of the challenge.

The real test is convincing the other players that your placement is right. Even players who do not know much about Germany can take part, make their case, and learn more about the country as the game unfolds.

That makes Ausgerechnet Buxtehude as much a game of confidence and persuasion as it is one of geographical knowledge. A card does not simply need to be placed; you also need the others to believe that it belongs there.

But confidence can be risky. If another player calls out a falsely played card, trouble follows. The tension comes from deciding when to trust your own knowledge, when to rely on a convincing argument, and when to challenge someone else’s claim.

With its accessible questions about German locations and its focus on bluffing, the game offers an engaging way to test what you know—or learn a thing or two while playing. Released in 2005, it is designed for 2–6 players and takes around 20 minutes.
