About this expansion

Azul: Special Factories Promo is a 2018 Azul expansion for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. This promotional set introduces special factory displays and double score markers to the classic tile-drafting experience.

During setup, return two of the usual Factory displays to the box and use the two Special Factory displays instead. The game is then played as usual, with one important addition: when taking tiles from a Special Factory display during the Factory offer phase, apply the new rules associated with that display.

The promo also includes five double score markers. Place them beside the Factory displays as a supply during setup. In this version of Azul, the Wall-tiling phase is carried out in player order rather than simultaneously.

The Wall-tiling phase begins with the first player and proceeds clockwise, giving the promo a clearly defined sequence for resolving this part of the game. Other than the changes described for the special displays and the Wall-tiling order, play follows the usual rules.

Azul: Special Factories Promo was contained in the Deutscher Spielepreis 2018 Goodie Box, a product supporting the Deutscher Spielepreis, Germany’s second biggest board game prize. Thousands of players vote each year between May and July for their favorite game, making this promo a notable addition for Azul fans and collectors.
