About this board game

Balkan Front is a detailed two- to three-player simulation of the Axis campaigns of conquest in the Balkans, with an approximate playing time of 240 minutes. Set between autumn 1940 and summer 1941, it covers a pivotal sequence of World War II operations across southeastern Europe.

The game encompasses the failed Italian invasion of Greece, followed by the German blitzkrieg that overran Yugoslavia and Greece. It also includes the German airborne assault on Crete, bringing these connected campaigns together in one comprehensive historical game.

The first edition, released in 1990, includes two maps, four counter sheets, a rules booklet with the rules and order of battle, and a broad selection of charts and tables. These materials support the game’s detailed presentation of the Balkan campaigns.
