BarBEARian Battlegrounds: Tales of BarBEARia

About this board game

BarBEARian Battlegrounds: Tales of BarBEARia is a 2–6 player game with a 60-minute play time, released in 2021, in which bear elders guide their villages toward glory before winter ends.

In the wondrous land of BarBEARia, bears gather honey, seek ore, recruit new companions, and pursue noble deeds. Each village aims to maximize its accomplishments during every season while competing with rival villages for the honor of becoming the most glorious.

Each season contains three turns, with the elders acting simultaneously. First, roll your bear dice secretly behind your village screen to create your plans. Then assign your bears to spaces on your village board, remembering that only bears with matching skills can share the same space.

Finally, your bears resolve their tasks in the order shown on the village mat. Timing matters as villages gather resources, attempt adventures, and prepare for the actions of their opponents.

• Gather resources such as honey and ore to support deeds and actions.
• Draft new bears to add more bear dice to your village.
• Hire mercenary bears for a single turn when temporary help is needed.
• Raid or defend as villages weigh the risks of attacks from their rivals.
• Adventure while watching for other bears that may reach the opportunity first.

Secret plans, skill-based assignments, and simultaneous decisions give every turn a sense of anticipation. Bears must pursue their own glory while considering what neighboring villages might attempt.

When winter ends, the village with the most accumulated glory wins. With its mix of resource gathering, recruiting, raiding, defense, and adventure, BarBEARian Battlegrounds: Tales of BarBEARia offers a lively race for heroic recognition across the bear villages.
