Bargain Quest: The Black Market Expansion is an expansion for 2–8 players that adds a dangerous criminal underworld to the game, with a play time of about 45 minutes.

The expansion introduces the Black Market Upgrade, a new way to access unusual and powerful equipment. Unlike the Display and Storage Upgrades in the original game, the Black Market Upgrade is purchased with stars rather than coins, requiring players to spend hard-earned reputation to build the connections needed for entry.

During the Supply Step, a player with the Black Market Upgrade gains cards from the Black Market Deck. These cards contain a variety of strange artifacts, creating opportunities that can be incredibly powerful, expensive but useless, or simply weird.
