About this board game
Basketball Age is a two-player basketball simulator with an approximately 120-minute play time, recreating an exciting match on a court at home.
Each player takes the role of a team coach, choosing a starting lineup and directing players around a basketball court divided into action zones. Players have individual skills, including play skill, movement points, passing, scoring percentage, and height, with abilities varying according to their positions.
During play, court players are activated one at a time in alternating attacker-and-defender order. The attacking team has a chance to score during its possession, with up to 10 attacking-player activations before the buzzer sounds. You may activate the same player repeatedly, creating opportunities to build and respond to plays.
- Use six-sided and ten-sided dice to resolve basketball actions.
- Attempt passes, two-point shots, layups, three-pointers, and dunks.
- Compete for rebounds and use blocks, steals, fouls, and free throws.
- Set up pick-and-roll plays while managing movement and player abilities.
Every activation can change the flow of the match, whether a possession ends with a successful shot, a defensive play, or a turnover. The combination of player skills, court zones, alternating actions, and dice rolls gives coaches a range of decisions as they try to create scoring chances and stop the opposing team.
Released in 2016, Basketball Age puts the responsibility for lineup choices and on-court decisions in the hands of two opposing coaches. If you can manage your players and make the right calls, you may lead your team to victory.
