About this board game

Batman: Everybody Lies is a cooperative crime-solving deduction game for 2–4 players, with each case taking roughly 2–3 hours to play. Set in the rich lore of the Batman comics universe, it challenges investigators to solve mysterious events unfolding across Gotham City.

Players take the roles of four distinctive investigators: instinctive journalist Warren Spacey, tenacious reporter Vicki Vale, brutish detective Harvey Bullock, or cunning Catwoman. Together, the group makes decisions that guide the investigation, follows leads, identifies suspects, and gathers enough information to help save Gotham City.

The investigation leads to famous locations including the Batcave, Arkham Asylum, Blackgate Penitentiary, and the Gotham City Gazette. Along the way, players cross paths with familiar characters such as Batman, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and Scarecrow.

  • Hidden agendas: Secret goals and unique win conditions are assigned according to each player’s DC character.
  • Immersive evidence: Use clue and plot-twist cards, physical handouts, and a dedicated website featuring in-world Gotham City Gazette archives.
  • Comic-inspired Scenes: Original illustrations bring memorable gameplay moments to life as though they were pulled from the pages of the comics.

Batman: Everybody Lies begins with an introductory Prologue that teaches the rules, followed by three major cases. Each case can be played as a stand-alone episode, while solving all four reveals a connected master narrative with an epic climax.

Every scenario concludes with a final report containing questions that verify how thoroughly the team investigated the case. With cooperative decisions, layered clues, and secret personal objectives, the game makes every trip through Gotham an uneasy test of trust.
