Bee Alert

About this board game

Bee Alert is a 15-minute game for 2–5 players in which you track six colored bees hidden beneath six beehives and try to collect four hives first.

At the beginning, players know which bee is hidden under each hive. The hives are then placed in the middle of the table, creating a shared layout that players must remember as the game unfolds.

On your turn, draw a card. The card determines what happens next:

• A hive card lets you take a hive from the middle without lifting it.
• A bear card requires you to return one hive to the middle of the table.
• A bee card lets you lift one hive and reveal the bee underneath. If its color matches the color shown on the card, move that hive towards yourself.

Every reveal puts your memory of the hidden bees to the test. Choosing which hive to lift matters, while the changing supply of hives gives each turn a clear consequence.

The first player to collect four hives wins. If the cards run out before anyone reaches that total, the player with the most hives in front of them wins instead.

With its simple card-driven turns, colorful plastic bees, and two possible ways to determine the winner, Bee Alert offers a compact challenge for a small group. Released in 2012, it combines hidden information and careful hive selection in a game that can be completed in around 15 minutes.
