About this board game

Black & White is a two-player block war game for exactly two players, with a play time of about 60 minutes. Set in a forty-kilometer strip of no man’s land, it places two feuding nations on opposite sides of a fragile truce.

To the west, Her Majesty Susanna of Thargaton commands troops in black uniforms. To the east, Cardinal Nicodemus of Vesani leads white-robed religious fanatics. Both leaders assemble their forces and compete to secure the most strategic parts of the battlefield.

Before the game begins, each player builds an army from the available troops and assigns a leader. Each side can choose from nine different units, but creating an effective force requires careful balance among various types of infantry, cavalry, and artillery.

The terrain tiles allow the battlefield to be customized before the conflict, while the army-building phase gives each player important decisions before combat starts. The old forts that survived the War of the Apostles become key locations in the struggle for control.

Quick to play but focused on troop efficiency and maneuvering, Black & White challenges both commanders to make the most of their chosen forces. Will Thargaton’s black-clad army or Vesani’s white-robed fanatics outmaneuver the enemy?
