About this board game
Blitzkrieg Commander is a fast-play tabletop wargame for two players, designed to recreate combined-arms battles of the Second World War and Spanish Civil War in about 150 minutes. Players can command forces ranging from a company to a division, using miniatures at any scale from 2mm to 20mm without re-basing.
The game’s command system emphasizes the fog of war through a simple but effective mechanism, while the same casualty-resolution system is used throughout the rules. Infantry, tanks, reconnaissance, artillery, aircraft, engineers, fortifications, and weather all have rules, supporting varied battlefield operations without becoming bogged down in detail.
- Flexible figure ratios let an infantry base represent either a section or a platoon.
- A unique points system supports unequal forces while giving both sides an equal chance of victory.
- Minimal setup means players can assemble their forces and begin playing quickly.
- Solo, two-player, and multiplayer games are supported at home, in clubs, or at tournaments.
The 120-page A4 perfect-bound rulebook includes more than 50 full-color photographs showing miniatures on the tabletop, along with two double-sided A4 quick-reference sheets, one for each player. It contains 43 army lists covering 18 nations and 15 theatres of war, plus 15 generic scenarios suitable for any nation or theatre.
A simple campaign system adds structure beyond individual battles, while the complete rules are contained in one book with no supplements required. With its combination of accessible play, broad force options, and detailed historical coverage, Blitzkrieg Commander offers a practical way to stage fast combined-arms tabletop engagements.
