About this expansion

Blood Bowl: Death Zone is a boxed expansion for Games Workshop’s Blood Bowl, designed for 2 players with a listed play time of 120 minutes and released in 1987.

The set adds new on-pitch rules that expand the ways a match can unfold. Players can use interceptions, strip the football, and jump over opposing players. Pitch invasions, magic spells, and new special players such as Thrudd also join the game.

Death Zone includes substantial physical additions for Blood Bowl, supporting its new teams and expanded play options. The box contains:

  • A book of additional rules and team statistics
  • 178 additional cardboard pieces representing the new teams
  • A pad of expanded Team Rosters
  • 20 additional plastic stands in four colours

The expansion also develops what happens away from the pitch. Its detailed campaign and league rules cover injury recovery, buying new players, and seeking sponsorship, providing rules for organising ongoing play.

With its additional rules, team statistics, components, and league-management material, Blood Bowl: Death Zone expands the original Blood Bowl experience both during matches and across campaigns. It is an expansion for Blood Bowl and requires that game to play.
