About this board game

Bloxx! is a Tetris-style roll-and-write game for 2–4 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Each player works to fill a personal grid while preserving numbered spaces that can score points.

Every player begins with a sheet showing a grid ten squares tall and seven squares wide. Four horizontal rows are colored, and some spaces contain numbers. On each turn, the active player rolls two dice, then everyone chooses one of the polyominoes shown and draws it into their grid as though it had dropped from the top.

Each polyomino has one circle and Xs in all its other spaces. The active player chooses first. If another player selects the polyomino shown on that die, they must place an X rather than a circle on their sheet, making the choice of die especially important.

  • Circle a numbered space to score points equal to that number at the end of the game.
  • Complete a colored horizontal row first to score 4 points; later completion of that same row scores 2 points.
  • Lose 1 point for every uncovered space, including gaps created while dropping shapes or spaces where a shape could not fit.

The game ends when two players cannot fit either of the current polyominoes into their grids. Players then add points from circled numbers and completed rows, subtract their uncovered-space penalties, and compare totals.

In Bloxx!, every placement balances immediate coverage against future scoring opportunities. Choose shapes quickly, manage the falling forms, and avoid leaving gaps as you compete for the highest score.
