About this board game

Braggart is a storytelling card game for 2–6 players, with rounds lasting about 30 minutes. Set in The Heroes Return, a tavern famed for its heroic clientele, it invites you to perform as someone who is not a hero but certainly talks like one.

Each round, players use cards from their hands to assemble a tale of derring-do. Every card contains part of the story, and the challenge is to combine those pieces into a compelling boast. Your creation might be hilarious, awe-inspiring, or simply the most believable story you can tell through the drunken haze of the tavern.

• Play cards from your hand to construct a heroic tale.
• Choose between stories that are funny, impressive, or believable.
• Give other players the chance to accept your boast or accuse you of lying.

But a confident performance is not always enough. Other players can call out your story, downgrading your boast into something much less impressive—and usually much funnier. The result is a lively contest of invention, judgment, and theatrical exaggeration.

With heroes, lies, and even unfortunate fish in the mix, Braggart is built around the pleasure of creating memorable stories and reacting to the outrageous tales told by your friends. Released in 2010, it offers a social game where the best boast may be the most believable, the most ridiculous, or simply the one that gets the biggest reaction.
