About this board game

Brightcast is a fast-paced 2-player card game with a playing time of about 15 minutes, released in 2025. Each player races to assemble a winning group of Spellcaster cards while trying to stop their opponent from achieving the same goal.

The central rule is simple: win by getting one of each Spellcaster card into play, or by putting five of the same Spellcaster card into play. This gives players two clear paths to victory as the game develops.

At the beginning of the game, each player starts with four cards in hand. On every turn, draw a card, play a card from your hand, and perform that card’s action. Each turn presents a direct choice about which card to use and how to advance your Spellcasters toward victory.

Brightcast combines an accessible objective with quick turns and a direct race between two opponents. Build toward your preferred Spellcaster combination, keep an eye on the other player’s progress, and use your cards to pursue victory before they can complete theirs.
