About this board game

Cadaver is a card game for 2–6 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Each player seeks to become a master Necromancer by using arcane resources to reanimate a series of cadavers.

Every cadaver has a resource cost, and players must spend the required resources to raise each corpse. These resources come from a shared deck, creating a common source of the cards needed to carry out your reanimation plans.

During the game, each player takes a number of cards from a single deck. The cards offer a variety of useful and terrifying possibilities as players search for corpses to reanimate, collect resources, and find other cards that support their efforts.

  • Cadavers to reanimate
  • Arcane resources to pay their costs
  • Accomplices
  • Coffin locks and keys
  • Terrifying ghouls

The central challenge is to gather what you need while finding enough corpses to build your total. Every reanimation brings you closer to the goal, but the game’s outcome is determined by how many corpses each player has raised when dawn arrives.

In Cadaver, the player with the most corpses raised by dawn wins. Released in 2016, this compact card game combines cadaver costs, shared-deck card draws, arcane resources, and necromantic ambition in a contest for the highest number of reanimated corpses.
