About this board game
Campaigns of 1777 is a two-player, point-to-point wargame about the critical 1777 campaign in the northern Colonies during the American War for Independence.
One player commands the British, led by figures such as Howe, Burgoyne, Cornwallis, and Clinton. The other commands the Patriots, with leaders including Washington, Greene, Arnold, Schuyler, and Gates. The British player seeks to control specific spaces and fulfill their Victory Conditions, while the Patriot player’s objective is to prevent that victory.
The map covers a campaign in which strategic movement and military objectives connect a series of historically notable operations. Key events represented include the sieges of Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Stanwix, the battles of Brandywine, Germantown, and Saratoga, and the surrender of Burgoyne’s army at Saratoga.
