About this board game

Champions of Midgard: Big Box is a Viking-themed worker placement and dice-rolling game for 2–4 players, with play sessions lasting about 90 minutes.

Players take the roles of leaders of Viking clans who have come to an embattled Viking harbor town. To defend it from trolls, draugr, and other mythological Norse beasts, they must gather resources, recruit warriors, and send expeditions against dangerous enemies.

Worker placement lets players collect the resources and warriors needed to pursue their plans. Resources can be used to carve runes, build ships, and feed followers, while Viking warriors are represented by custom dice and put to the test in battle.

• Gather resources and warriors through worker placement.
• Travel to neighboring villages or across the sea on monster-hunting journeys.
• Use custom warrior dice to fight the threats facing the town.
• Earn glory and the favor of the gods by defeating epic creatures.

As the game progresses, each clan seeks the glory needed to claim victory. When the game ends, the player with the most glory earns the title of Jarl and is recognized as a champion of Midgard.
