Canadian Crucible: Brigade Fortress at Norrey is a two-player tactical combat game with an approximately 720-minute play time, depicting the Canadian defense of Norrey on D-Day +2, June 8, 1944.

The battle continues for the next three days and was known to the Germans as the First Battle for Caen. The 7th Brigade of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division is dug in around its D-Day objectives, preparing a fortress around Bretteville, Norrey, and Putot. Opposing them are the Grenadiers of the 12th SS Panzer Division, spearheading a determined counterattack.

The Regina Rifles and The Royal Winnipeg Rifles remain under-strength after their D-Day losses. Canadian players must hold the thin red line, while the German side seeks to break through and regain the initiative. The result is a balanced, one-map contest between highly motivated forces.

Canadian Crucible uses the Tactical Combat Series 4.0 rules and includes one map, 560 counters, and 10 scenarios, including two campaigns. Historical and free setup options provide different ways to approach the battle.
