Cangaço is a 2019 draft and set collection game for 2–4 players, playable in about 30 minutes. Compete to form the most feared band in northeast Brazil and earn the most points by the end of three seasons.

The game draws on the history of cangaço, a form of social banditry that existed in northeastern Brazil between 1870 and 1940. Cangaceiros were independent armed groups led by charismatic figures. Although they took part in looting, theft, murder, and other cruel criminal activities, many people in their communities did not consider them criminals at the time.

As you play, recruit outlaws and construct diverse buildings to increase your band’s influence. You must also stockpile valuable supplies, including cachaça, flour, and munitions, while building the collection that will support your rise to power.

• Seasonal finale: After three seasons, the player with the most points wins.

Cangaço also reflects the legacy of Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, better known as Lampião, the King of Cangaço. His exploits became legendary after his death and helped create the image of a protector of the poor.
