About this board game

Capital City is a fast-playing Wild West card game for 3–6 players, with games lasting about 50 minutes. Over one year, players compete to build the most famous town in the West and become its new Mayor.

The game unfolds across four rounds, each represented by a season. In every season, a train brings city slickers and kinfolk from the East, giving you new character cards to put to work as you expand your town and develop Main Street.

1. Bid for player priority order for the current season.
2. Choose character cards from the train to work in your town.
3. Purchase building cards to form Main Street.
4. Attach character cards to buildings to earn dollars or victory points.

Choosing workers carefully is essential. Characters from the same family help one another reach success faster, and attached characters provide bonuses to their current player as well as other players with characters from that family. This creates opportunities to benefit from family connections while building your growing town.

Dollars are useful during the game, but victory points are the true prize. After the fourth season, the player with the most VPs wins and becomes the Mayor of Capital City. With bidding, worker selection, building purchases, and family-based bonuses, Capital City offers a compact card-game challenge set against a classic Wild West backdrop.
