About this board game

Carcassonne: Winter Edition is a snowy version of the familiar Carcassonne setting for 2–5 players, with a playing time of approximately 40 minutes. It plays the same as the Carcassonne base game while adding a winter atmosphere and extra tiles.

In this snow-covered setting, knights continue to patrol the cities, while farmers work to feed the nation. Highwaymen also travel the roads, including roads that run behind city walls, bringing a distinctive detail to the familiar scene.

The game includes the same 72 tiles as the Carcassonne base game, along with twelve new basic tiles. This gives players the recognizable foundation of the original game while expanding the available tile set for the Winter Edition.

The Z-Man English edition included the Gingerbread Man Expansion in its first print run only. Availability and included content therefore depend on the edition and print run.

A new Hans im Glück print run released in Germany in 2020 includes The River expansion, which is not separately available. With its winter presentation, familiar base-game play, and edition-specific extras, Carcassonne: Winter Edition offers a snowy way to experience the classic setting.
