Carson City: The Teacher & Town Hall

About this expansion

Carson City: The Teacher & Town Hall is a small expansion for 2–6 players, designed for games lasting about 180 minutes. Released in 2015, it adds the Teacher character and a Town Hall tile to the Carson City experience.

The Teacher changes how character selection works across the game. During rounds 1–3, use the Teacher’s yellow side; in round 4, use the red side. When playing with the Teacher, you become the first player to choose a character in the next turn, regardless of when you passed during the current round. The Teacher also has a $60 cash limit.

The red side is available only in the final round and offers a scoring-focused ability. During final scoring, you receive 2 victory points for each School, Prison, or Church you own. You also gain 2 victory points if you do not own any Saloons, while the $60 cash limit remains in effect.

• Use the yellow Teacher side in rounds 1–3.
• Use the red Teacher side in the final round.
• Choose a character first on the next turn when playing with the Teacher.
• Gain final-scoring points from Schools, Prisons, Churches, and having no Saloons.

The Town Hall replaces a generic red house tile and depicts the starting location of Carson City at the beginning of the game. Included in the Big Box of Carson City, this expansion is intended for owners of the base game. The Teacher was also given away with the Lawyer/Editor at Essen, but that giveaway did not include the Town Hall.
