Castle Raisers

About this board game

Castle Raisers is a 1–4-player tile-placement game with drafting elements, playable in about 60 minutes. Across twelve rounds, players build vertical castles while preparing for a final assault by an army of wolves.

The three little pigs have outgrown their houses, but even brick cannot withstand the legions on the prowl. To survive, they must raise castles by drafting tiles and placing each new tile on earlier ones, creating increasingly tall defenses.

As icons are covered, players activate one of five abilities. Village tokens can be placed inside a castle to strengthen other abilities, while prestige increases can provide victory points. Players may also place fortification tiles to heighten their walls, dispatch wolves to attack rival castles, or pour cauldrons of soup to repel invaders.

• Draft and build: Choose tiles and stack them to create a vertical castle.
• Activate abilities: Cover icons to develop villages, gain prestige, strengthen walls, send wolves, or use soup.
• Prepare for the assault: Balance defensive construction with actions that affect other castles.
• Chase final scoring: Fulfill the conditions found on village tokens to maximize your score.

Every decision asks you to weigh immediate opportunities against the danger ahead. Strengthening the walls may be essential, but activating the right abilities and completing scoring conditions can be just as important.

Castle Raisers includes solo and cooperative modes alongside competitive play for up to four players. Raise your defenses, manage your castle’s abilities, and be ready before the wolves huff and puff their way to the final assault.
