Castles of Mad King Ludwig: Renovations is a 2023 expansion for 1–5 players that adds special double room type tiles to the castle-building experience.

These renovations let you renovate your castle while you build it. Each special tile combines two room types, creating new ways to develop your castle with renovations available in every size.

The expansion focuses on rewarding completed construction and helping you fulfill favors more quickly. With the right renovation, you can receive double the completion rewards and fulfill favors twice as fast.

Castles of Mad King Ludwig: Renovations includes one version compatible with several editions of the base game. This version works with the First Edition, Second Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Royal Collector’s Edition.

A separate version is specifically made for the Colossal Edition. The expansion therefore has edition-specific compatibility, so players should match the version of Renovations to their base game before adding it to play.

The stand-alone version of “Renovations” will not be released to retail. For players with a compatible edition, this expansion adds a focused set of double room type tiles that can enhance castle construction, increase completion rewards, and accelerate favor fulfillment.
