Die Siedler von Catan: Das Turnier-Set zum Kartenspiel is a two-player expansion for the Catan Card Game, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Released in 1997, it introduces a tournament format in which each player prepares a personal deck before play.

This first expansion contains 57 cards, including mostly new cards as well as a few duplicates from the base game. It was later divided into the smaller Wissenschaft & Fortschritt and Ritter und Händler expansions.

For the tournament game, both players need their own copy of the base game and this tournament expansion. Before starting, each player builds a deck from the available cards, creating a starting hand and four personal draw stacks.

• A starting hand of 3 cards
• Another 30 cards arranged into 4 draw stacks
• An event deck made from 5 fixed cards plus 4 cards chosen by each player

Gameplay otherwise remains unchanged from the base game. The key difference is that each player draws only from their own supply stacks, making personal deck construction part of the tournament setup.

A further variant provides rules for an expanded base game without deck building. This version requires only one copy of the base game and one copy of the tournament expansion, while the tournament format requires both players to have their own copies.
